**Update Regarding the CTA**
As you may be aware, recent court decisions have created uncertainty around the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). A federal judge previously blocked the law for certain plaintiffs, ruling that it exceeded Congress’s authority. However, appellate courts have since reviewed challenges to this injunction, with some courts allowing the CTA to remain in effect while legal battles continue. Despite these ongoing appeals, the reporting requirements still apply to most businesses unless a court specifically exempts them. The current deadline for filing compliance reports is March 21, 2025.
The Trump administration has signaled that it does not plan to strongly enforce the CTA and is even exploring ways to limit its impact. However, the law is still in effect, and businesses should continue to follow the reporting requirements to avoid potential legal risks.
